The Mission of MindWay Counseling’s Abuse Matters - Batterers Intervention Program is to promote victim safety, child safety, offender accountability, and behavioral change by addressing the abusive, coercive, controlling, and violent behaviors used in intimate partner relationships. Abuse Matters is a structured Batterers Intervention Program designed to address intimate partner violence by helping participants identify, confront, and change patterns of abusive behavior, coercive control, intimidation, manipulation, and violence. The program incorporates the Duluth Model, with emphasis on power and control, accountability, nonviolence, respect, responsibility, and behavioral change.
